A day in the life…
Wondering what a day in the life of Patient Accounts Representative at The Iowa Clinic might look like?
- Handle patient billing inquiries, collect payments, and provide outstanding customer service.
- Research accounts, verify insurance benefits, and explain charges and balances.
- Process payments, refunds, adjustments, and assist with payment arrangements.
- Document account activity and maintain accurate patient records.
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on account issues.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and billing policies while resolving billing discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address complex account concerns.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and billing systems while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate effectively, remain professional under pressure, and maintain strong attention to detail

This job might be for you if…
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ previous experience working in a medical office or billing environment with healthcare billing, insurance, or patient collections required.
- Awareness of medical terminology required.         Â
