This is an onsite position in our Billing/Coding department that answers patient, clinic, insurance company and other third-party calls from the incoming multi[1]line telephone system and schedules appointments for various primary care clinic locations, directs calls or submits electronic tasks to specific clinic team, and processes payment requests for electronic credit card and ACH payments.

A day in the life…      
    
Wondering what a day in the life of a SAR Representative at The Iowa Clinic might look like? You will:       
  • Perform duties relating to posting manual/electronic payments and denials received by the organization into the accounts receivable system.
  • Have a clear understanding of the payment posting process and possess the ability to handle the resubmission, reposting, and transferring of data ques.
  • Receive requests for patient medical records on behalf of The Iowa Clinic.
  • Accurately document and keep in the disclosure log what records were sent, to whom and when.
  • Electronically receive, sort and transfer data into patient electronic medical record.
  • Scan paper medical records and transfer data into electronic medical records. 
This job might be for you if…      
  •   High school diploma or equivalent required.
  
Qualifications       
  • Previous medical office administrative experience and a working knowledge of different types of insurance programs preferred.
  • 2-3 years working in a medical office and a working knowledge of ICD-9 and/or ICD-10 and CPT coding and Medicare exclusions required.  Exposure to different types of insurance programs preferred.
