About the Job
This is an exciting time to join Juniper, a fast-growing architectural lighting design and manufacturing company based in Southington, CT. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Machine/CNC Operator to support our precision manufacturing operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines and other shop equipment to produce high-quality components used in our architectural lighting systems. You will work closely with the CNC lead, production team, and quality team to ensure parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and to Juniper’s high craftsmanship standards.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on fabrication work, precision machining, and contributing to a collaborative manufacturing environment focused on quality and continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines and shop equipment, including milling machines, lathes, grinders, and sanders
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate production
- Adjust machine settings and tooling to meet required specifications and production timelines
- Inspect machined parts using precision measurement tools to ensure quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot machine issues and perform basic maintenance when necessary
- Collaborate with the CNC lead and production team to maintain efficient workflow and production output
- Maintain accurate machining logs and production documentation
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace using 5S principles

Preferred Qualifications
- 1–4 years of experience operating CNC machines or similar manufacturing equipment
- Experience working with milling machines, lathes, grinders, and fabrication tools
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and machining specifications
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools and machining processes
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in fabrication or machining
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team
