As Sous Chef, you will help lead our team in delivering outstanding dishes and creating memorable experiences for guests. Benefits: Competitive Pay Shift Meal & Monthly Dining Allowance for all locations 100% Employer Paid Disability Flexible Scheduling Opportunities for Growth and Advancement 401(k) with matching up to 4% Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance Paid Time Off & Paid Sick Time Referral Program Life, Accident, Critical Illness, & Pet Insurance Career Development within the Max Hospitality Group Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and daily food preparation Supervise, train, and motivate kitchen staff to maintain high standards of performance and consistency Manage inventory, place orders, and ensure proper stock levels for kitchen operations Assist in the planning of menus, with a focus on fresh, seasonal seafood and local ingredients Ensure the preparation and presentation of food meet Max’s Oyster Bar’s standards of excellence Handle scheduling for kitchen staff to ensure appropriate coverage during all shifts Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction Troubleshoot and resolve any culinary issues that arise during service Participate in the development and creation of new menu items QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For Experience: Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible culinary experience in an upscale kitchen Experience with seafood preparation and menu creation Ability to manage kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory, and staff scheduling Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop kitchen staff Formal culinary training is preferred Ability to maintain high standards in food quality and presentation Knowledge of seasonal ingredients and working with local purveyors Skills and Qualities: Strong communication skills, including oral, written, and listening Excellent time management and organizational skills A passion for food, especially seafood, and a commitment to quality Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining composure Strong leadership and team-building skills Professional dress and behavior are required Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Diversity Creates a Healthy Atmosphere: Max Hospitality is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
