Mechanic-PD

Maintenance Mechanic with a primary focus on painting. This position is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and overall condition of the facility through interior and exterior painting, surface preparation, and general maintenance tasks.

Our Lady of Consolation is located on the beautiful Great South Bay and is comprised of a 345-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center. Our nurses, physicians and support staff are devoted to providing patient driven health care in an environment of compassion to our patients, their families and our community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, patch, sand, prime, and paint walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces throughout the facility.
• Repair drywall, plaster, and minor wall damage before painting.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Inspect facility areas for cosmetic and maintenance needs and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Maintain painting equipment, tools, and supplies while ensuring proper storage and cleanup.
• Follow all safety procedures, infection control protocols, and OSHA regulations.
• Assist with general maintenance duties, including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and preventative maintenance as needed.

Requirements:

• High School equivalent
• Previous experience in commercial or institutional painting and general maintenance preferred.
• Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, drywall repair, and finishing.
• Experience in a healthcare, nursing home, or long-term care environment is a plus.

The pay for this position ranges is $30.85 per hour. 

This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
