Description of the Position:

The Maintenance Mechanic position requires a skilled maintenance mechanic to inspect and

repair material handling equipment and minor building repairs. Will follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed. In addition, the candidate will observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Regular inspection of all electrical and power units of a facility.
  • Detecting malfunctions and defects in electrical systems and vehicle engines and repairing the same.
  • Ensuring the compliance of all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while conducting work functions.
  • Maintaining a record of service cycles and other maintenance activities conducted.
  • Efficiently managing time and completing all tasks assigned by the supervisory authority.
  • Reporting damages, defects and other issues pertaining to electrical units to the supervising manager.
  • Placing orders for spare and replacement parts and completing all necessary documentation for the same.
  • Appropriately using and handling all electrical repair and testing tools and equipment.
  • Light building maintenance repairs. Changing bulbs, painting, caulking, etc.
  • Moving equipment from building to another building
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Work Location: This is an on-site role

 

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00PM - 2:30AM with OT as needed. 

Compensation: $35/hr, plus $.50 shift differential

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.
  • Sound understanding of using all electrical testing and repair of Material Handling

equipment.

  • Ability to use efficiently various power and hand tools.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Should follow oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships.
  • High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, extend, reach, and twist for long periods of time.
