We're Not Looking for "Just a Host."
We're looking for the person who sets the tone for every guest who walks through our doors.
At Lucky's Iron Door Roadhouse, the Director of First Impressions is one of the most important people in the building. You are the first hello, the first smile, the first point of contact, and often the first opportunity we have to show a guest what kind of experience they can expect from us.
You do not need restaurant experience.
You do need to care about people.
If you're smart, driven, responsible, naturally welcoming, and willing to learn, we can teach you the rest.
This position starts at $13.00 per hour. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
Full-time and part-time positions are available.
About Lucky's Iron Door Roadhouse
Lucky's Iron Door Roadhouse opened in Jordan Landing in 2019 as the second home of the award-winning burgers that began with Lucky 13 in Salt Lake City.
We serve brunch, lunch, dinner, handcrafted cocktails, beer, coffee, and the burgers our guests have come to know us for.
But great food alone does not create loyal guests.
People come back because of how they were treated.
That means every person on our team plays a role in the guest experience, and few positions have more influence over that experience than the person standing at the front door.
A Day in the Life of the Director of First Impressions
Your job begins the moment someone approaches the door.
You notice them.
You welcome them.
You help them understand where to go.
You manage the flow of the restaurant with confidence and professionalism.
You stay positive when there is a wait.
You communicate clearly when things are busy.
You make guests feel taken care of before they ever sit down.
Because Lucky's Iron Door includes both an all-ages restaurant and a 21+ bar, you'll help direct guests to the appropriate entrance while following all required age-verification and identification procedures.
The best Directors of First Impressions understand something simple:
A guest should never feel ignored.
Even when we're busy.
Especially when we're busy.
Who You Are
You're someone who naturally looks up when a guest walks through the door.
You enjoy meeting people.
You communicate clearly and confidently.
You can stay organized when several things are happening at once.
You don't panic when the restaurant gets busy.
You can explain a wait time without making a guest feel dismissed.
You notice when someone looks confused and offer help before they have to ask.
You understand that professionalism and personality can exist at the same time.
You take responsibility for your position and for the experience happening around you.
Most importantly, you care about leaving people better than you found them.
What You'll Do
- Greet every guest promptly and genuinely.
- Manage seating and guest flow throughout the restaurant.
- Communicate accurate wait times and expectations.
- Help ensure guests enter through the appropriate restaurant or bar entrance.
- Follow all required age-verification and identification procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional entrance and host area.
- Communicate with servers, bartenders, managers, and other team members throughout the shift.
- Answer guest questions and help resolve concerns before they become problems.
- Help create an atmosphere guests are excited to return to.
What We're Looking For
No previous restaurant experience is required.
We will train the right person.
What matters more to us is who you are.
We're looking for someone who is:
- 21 years of age or older.
- Friendly and naturally hospitable.
- Smart and willing to learn.
- Driven to do a great job.
- Responsible and dependable.
- Organized and detail-oriented.
- Professional in both appearance and communication.
- Comfortable working with people from all walks of life.
- Able to remain calm and patient under pressure.
- Willing to accept coaching and improve.
- Ready to contribute to the team instead of simply completing a shift.
Why Work Here?
We're building careers, not simply filling shifts.
This can be an entry point into hospitality for someone who has never worked in a restaurant before, and for the right person, it can become the beginning of something much bigger.
We believe great employees should have the opportunity to learn, grow, take on more responsibility, and become future leaders.
You'll work alongside people who care deeply about hospitality, hold themselves to high standards, and understand that the success of the restaurant depends on the entire team.
If you're looking for a workplace where your personality matters, your effort is noticed, and your growth is encouraged, we'd love to meet you.

Cleanliness
A clean, organized, and professional environment shows respect for our guests, our teammates, and our workplace.
Community
We support one another, take care of our guests, and strengthen the community we're proud to serve.
If these standards describe the way you work, you'll fit right in.
