Job Summary

A Staff Accountant is an integral part of the facility finance team, providing support to the Plant Controller.  A production staff accountant manages financial tracking, cost reporting, and daily accounting operations for manufacturing plants. Duties include reconciling inventory, preparing journal entries, and analyzing production variances to ensure operations stay on budget. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting: 
    • Analysis of data
    • Investigation of discrepancies
    • Period End assigned reports
    • Yield Preparation
  • Inventory control:  PO/DO reconciliation
  • Analysis:  Analyze inventory usage, operational variances and cycle count results to limit the frequency of adjustments and swings regarding ending inventory and production performance.
  • Leadership:  Provide leadership and support to the plant accounting team encouraging development and growth within the department.
    • Serve as a committee member for facility projects and capital expenditure requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Job Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

 

  • Experience:  Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing.

 

  • Skills:  Advance proficiency in spreadsheet applications such as Excel or Google Sheets.  Strong analytical abilities, and familiarity with ERP systems.  Must have excellent written and verbal communications along with customer service skills.   Ability to problem solve.  Must have computer skills to communicate and process data.
  • Age: Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.  
  • Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorships are available.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work weekends as needed.  Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.  Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.  Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Compliance:  Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug test, background screen, physical and E-Verify.
