POSITION SUMMARY
The Endo nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluation of a plan which focuses on gastroesophageal testing/treatment for patients in accordance with facility and departmental policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice. Responsible for the quality of nursing services delivered by self and subordinates. Able to utilize knowledge, judgment and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of patients. The endo nurse works collaboratively with the physician and anesthesia providers to determine needs during the endoscopic and GI procedures and to assume responsibility for patient care, document, and evaluate effectiveness of nursing actions and ensure a safe environment of care.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Current Louisiana license required. Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
- On the job training in use of computer.
- BLS required within first 30 days
- All other certifications due within 90 days of hire date, i.e., ACLS, PALS
