Overview

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems. Troubleshoot electrical problems and make recommendations for improvement. Read and interpret electrical drawings. Operate electrical testing equipment. Inspect electrical work for safety. Comply with all safety regulations. Work independently and as part of a team. Stay up-to-date on the latest electrical codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair switchboard control panels and components, motor circuits, building and lighting circuits, and control circuits
  • Program simple ladder logic and VFD’s
  • Read electrical installation drawings. Circuit schedules, plans, area class, motor schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Use all test equipment associated with troubleshooting electrical equipment
  • Safely supervise electrical contract work
  • Effectively interface with electrical engineers and energy providers
  • Perform preventive maintenance on low voltage electrical equipment such as switchgear, breakers, etc.
  • Proficient in working with 4160 VAC system
  • Overhead power line troubleshooting

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Journeyman electrical license
  • 3-5 years oilfield experience preferred
  • Electrically qualified per OSHA 1910.0269 up to 600V
  • Capable of understanding mechanical relay logic and ladder logic
  • Knowledge of NEC and OSHA standards
  • Proficient in working with 4160 VAC system
  • Comprehensive understanding of Motor Control Center (MCC) operation
  • Knowledgeable in substation functionality and procedures
  • Knowledgeable in synchronous motors troubleshooting and operation
  • Good computer skills
  • Team oriented, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Must meet conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test (hair follicle), MVR, fit for duty and agility.
