Senior Mechanical Plant Manager / Site O&M Lead

Position Summary

PRISMECS is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Plant Manager / Site O&M Lead to oversee the daily operation and maintenance of a temporary diesel power plant project in Odessa, Texas.

The successful candidate will provide onsite leadership, supervise plant personnel, coordinate operational and maintenance activities, and ensure the plant operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. This position requires extensive diesel power plant experience and a strong mechanical maintenance background.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations and maintenance activities for the diesel power plant.
  • Supervise mechanical personnel and field operators.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical leadership during equipment failures and emergency situations.
  • Support troubleshooting of diesel generators and auxiliary mechanical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies, permit-to-work requirements, and company procedures.
  • Serve as the primary onsite contact for the client and PRISMECS management.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly operational reports.
  • Plan manpower requirements and coordinate work schedules.
  • Coordinate plant outages, spare parts, tools, and maintenance resources.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure accurate operating and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with the remote Electrical Lead when electrical or control-system support is required.


Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in diesel engine power plants.
  • Previous experience managing or leading an O&M team.
  • Strong mechanical maintenance and diesel-engine troubleshooting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel generators and balance-of-plant equipment.
  • Working knowledge of medium-voltage systems and generator operations.
  • Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts during breakdowns and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Strong leadership, communication, reporting, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work onsite in Odessa, Texas, for the project.
  • Must meet the project’s applicable work-authorization and site-access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with temporary or mobile power plants.
  • Hands-on experience with Volvo diesel engines.
  • Experience supporting plant commissioning, startup, or mobilization projects.
  • Previous client-facing experience in an O&M leadership role.
  • Relevant mechanical, electrical, or engineering education or certification.
