POSITION FUNCTION/OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive treatment plans for a caseload of clients and families. Accordingly, they will assess and identify clinical issues for each family and create clear objectives and goals. Therapists will also track and document client and family progress in case reports while working to meet all required internal and external standards and policies.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote the mission, values and vision of the organization.
Provide excellent customer service for clients; practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
Complete comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and other required clinical evaluations.
Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s identified needs, strengths, and treatment goals.
Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based, trauma-informed interventions.
Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and clinical de-escalation as indicated.
Maintain regular contact with family members and other identified supports, when clinically appropriate and authorized by the patient.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, behavioral health technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Participate in treatment team meetings and provide clinically relevant updates regarding patient progress, barriers, risks, and discharge needs.
Identify appropriate referral services and coordinate with community providers to support continuity of care.
Assist with discharge and safety planning to promote a successful transition to the appropriate level of care.
Complete clinical documentation accurately, thoroughly, and within required timeframes.
Utilize the electronic health record effectively and follow all facility, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements.
Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, professionalism, accountability, and appropriate therapeutic boundaries.
Perform additional clinical duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling,or a closely related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
Previous experience in an inpatient psychiatric, crisis stabilization, behavioral health, or substance use treatment setting is preferred.
Knowledge of biopsychosocial assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, group facilitation, and discharge planning.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
Maintains a professional, respectful, flexible, and patient-centered attitude.
Ability to respond calmly and appropriately during crisis situations.
SKILLS:
Knowledge of state and federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality laws and workplace policies.
Ability to communicate well with patients, families, co-workers, etc.

Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information.
Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
