 Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Expeditor to join our dynamic food service team. The ideal candidate will facilitate smooth communication between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, ensuring timely delivery of orders and maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction. This role is essential in creating an efficient dining experience by coordinating food preparation, expediting orders, and supporting overall restaurant operations. Prior experience in food service, culinary settings, or hospitality is highly valued, along with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and expedite food orders between the kitchen staff and servers to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen personnel regarding order status, special requests, and timing.
• Assist in food preparation and handling as needed to support kitchen operations.
• Ensure all food items meet safety and quality standards before serving.
• Maintain organized station to facilitate efficient workflow during service hours.
• Support bussing duties when necessary to uphold cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
• Use POS systems accurately for order tracking and updates.
• Assist with food safety procedures, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional customer service experiences.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant, banquet, or hospitality environments preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation, expediting, and food safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with managers, kitchen staff and front-of-house team.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple orders efficiently under pressure.
• Basic numeracy skills for order accuracy and POS system operation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Kitchen or culinary experience is a plus; hotel or serving experience is beneficial.
• Ability to handle food safely and adhere to sanitation standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; prior experience with banquet or large event settings is advantageous.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• At least 6 months experience in a similar capacity.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
