Key Responsibilities:  Answers and transfers callers to the appropriate destination; responds to callers’ questions and concerns and provides accurate information. Records accurate and complete messages and ensures their timely and accurate distribution via telephone and e-mail. Welcoming and greeting visitors professionally; answering questions from visitors and callers; giving directions, instructions, and referrals to the appropriate person or department; managing incoming visitors and determining who they need to see; screening sales representative and other solicitors before allowing them to contact staff, and representing The Salvation Army in a courteous, helpful, and tactful manner. SAHelp: Greeting and assisting people seeking social service assistance by providing the website to apply for services; providing phone numbers and contact information for social services; and connecting clients/potential clients with the right personnel for further assistance. Notify the appropriate staff member to know when a visitor or client arrives; make sure every visitor/ client signs upon arrival; keep the visitor/client sign-in process organized and accurate and directs visitors and clients to the appropriate person or department after check-in. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet established attendance requirements and maintain reliable, consistent attendance. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to operate a telephone and/or switchboard efficiently and professionally. Ability to accurately sort and organize documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to accurately perform routine mathematical computations. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
