Job Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Description:
Birch Agency is hiring 6 Speech Language Pathologists for positions located in the West Palm Beach area of Florida. All positions are school based with 4 elementary school level positions, 1 high school position and 1 middle school position. These positions are for the 2026/2027 school year. The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for students with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders that impact educational performance. The SLP collaborates with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support students in achieving academic and communication success.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Evaluation
Conduct speech and language screenings, assessments, and evaluations for students suspected of having communication disorders.
Interpret evaluation results and prepare comprehensive reports.
Participate in eligibility determination meetings in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
Therapy & Intervention
Develop and implement individualized speech and language therapy plans aligned with student IEP goals.
Provide direct and indirect therapy services to students individually and in groups.
Address articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, pragmatic language, and social communication skills.
Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals.
IEP Development & Compliance
Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the educational team to develop measurable goals and accommodations.
Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with IDEA, Florida Department of Education, and district policies.
Ensure services are delivered according to IEP schedules.
Collaboration
Work closely with teachers, special education staff, school psychologists, occupational therapists, and administrators.
Provide consultation and strategies to classroom staff to support student communication needs.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain therapy notes, progress reports, and required Medicaid or billing documentation (if applicable).
Track service delivery minutes and maintain caseload records.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Valid Florida Speech-Language Pathologist license issued by the Florida Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (or Clinical Fellowship eligibility).
Eligibility for or possession of a Florida Department of Education Speech-Language Pathologist certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting.
Knowledge of IEP development and special education laws.
Experience working with diverse student populations and disabilities.
