As a global leader in manufacturing construction materials for the building envelope, we offer anchors and reinforcement, moisture protection, thermal performance, wall estimating software, and air barrier systems for commercial and residential masonry markets.Responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of Hohmann & Barnard products and related manufacturing processes. Maintains product standards, engineering specifications, and technical documentation to ensure product quality, consistency, and manufacturability across all H&B operations. Supports new product development initiatives through the established Stage-Gate process while partnering with manufacturing, quality, sales, and technical teams to identify opportunities for product innovation, cost optimization, and operational improvement. Develops and implements programs that enable manufacturing and warehouse personnel to verify compliance with established product standards and quality requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design, develop, and improve Hohmann & Barnard products, product standards, engineering specifications, manufacturing documentation, and technical drawings using appropriate engineering and drafting software.
- Maintain and continuously improve engineering standards and documentation to ensure product quality, consistency, and manufacturability across all H&B facilities.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for product design, product standards, and engineering documentation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain engineering and quality standards to ensure compliance with established product specifications.
- Establish and maintain a product quality verification program, including standard work instructions, inspection procedures, audit processes, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and support manufacturing and warehouse personnel in the application of product standards, inspection methods, and quality verification procedures.
- Maintain a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, capabilities, efficiencies, and cost drivers across all H&B operations.
- Coordinate with Marmon's Global Integrated Center (GIC) and other technical resources to support drafting, detailing, and related engineering activities while ensuring adherence to H&B standards and requirements.
- Review and validate engineering deliverables generated by internal and external resources to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards.
- Support custom and specialty fabrication opportunities by providing engineering evaluation, design assistance, and technical documentation.
- Assist Sales and Business Development teams in evaluating technical feasibility, manufacturability, and application requirements for new and custom product opportunities.
- Participate in the Stage-Gate process for new product development and product launch initiatives.
- Partner with the Architectural and Technical Services (ATS) team to evaluate customer feedback and identify opportunities for product enhancements and new product development.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, project engineering, and costing personnel to identify opportunities for product improvement, value engineering, and manufacturing efficiency.
- Support the evaluation and qualification of external manufacturing partners and suppliers for specialized production requirements and new product opportunities.
- Participate in industry associations, technical committees, and professional development activities to remain current on industry trends, codes, standards, and emerging technologies.
- Perform additional projects, duties or assignments as directed by management.Â

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- B.S. Engineering or other relevant technical degree
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing process
- Proficient in AutoCad, Revit, Solidworks
- Working knowledge of construction processes with relevant in field experience
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 tools
