Franciscan Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and service-driven Centralized Scheduling Manager to lead our Central Scheduling team and help create an exceptional experience for every patient we serve. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations and strategic direction of the Central Scheduling department, fostering staff development, promoting operational excellence, managing fiscal responsibilities, and driving outstanding customer satisfaction. You'll play a vital role in ensuring patients receive seamless access to care by coordinating scheduling for both hospital and clinic services while gathering essential registration, scheduling, and insurance referral information. You'll also represent the Central Scheduling department in interdisciplinary workflow meetings, providing education, insight, and leadership to strengthen collaboration and continuously improve the patient experience.

Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, exempt position.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise department functions and personnel to include hiring, discipline, performance evaluations, terminations and training of employees.
  • Develops goals/objectives for the department, establishes and implements policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the overall maintenance of the patient schedule in Cerner for various hospital departments and five rural health clinics.
  • Checks benefits and obtains pre-authorizations.
  • Scheduling hospital - lab tests, radiology tests, outpatient specialty clinic, outpatient infusions/injections and surgical patients, as well as clinic appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education and/or Experience 

  • RN, preferred
  • One year of management or supervisory experience, preferred

  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and to interact positively and productively with team members
  • Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively with people seeking services to provide necessary information and be aware of possible resources for information
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Understand technical information from managers, charts, reference books, and manuals
  • Critical reasoning skills necessary to organize workload according to priorities
  • Ability to record information accurately and follow instructions exactly
  • Compliance with HIPAA
