Seasoned Lending Professional

The West Point location is looking for an experienced lending professional. A lender in this role is responsible for evaluating, authorizing, or recommending the approval of loan applications for individuals and businesses. This position serves as the primary point of contact for borrowers throughout the lending process, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and sound lending practices. This person is expected to actively promote F&M Bank within the community by developing new business relationships, strengthening existing customer relationships, and serving as an ambassador for the bank's brand and values.

Primary Accountabilities: 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Perform underwriting, financial analysis, and maintenance for new and existing loans.
• Participate in loan support, including, scheduling and production of loan documents and modifications. 
• Manage the loan process to include the initial review, processing steps, post-closing (monitoring and booking of the loan), and clearing all exceptions
• Coordinate with management and internal legal counsel to ensure legal counsel is assigned to cases where representation is necessary
• Review types of collateral being taken by the bank for appropriate documentation to ensure the bank’s ability to perfect its lien position 
• Responsible for resolution of payment and any other collection issues
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Provide extraordinary customer service in every aspect of your duties by listening, caring, showing empathy, and providing positive solutions when dealing with others.
• Work with the compliance officer to evaluate and continue to develop and implement strategies to ensure an absence of deficiencies in process
• Prepare presentations to present to loan committee 
• Work with the President to develop strategies that maximize growth, earnings and efficiencies 
• Understand and adhere to all bank policy, procedures, laws and regulations. Complete compliance training; follow internal processes and controls as required and affirm on each performance review that you will comply with regulations. Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations to your manager or compliance officer
• Be actively involved in the community. The expectations of this role are to commit a designated time up to 25% to generating new relationships.

Requirements

5-7 years of previous lending experience desired
