ERS ELITE is partnering with a prestigious global automotive manufacturing organization to identify a Production Group Leader to support second-shift Paint operations at a major manufacturing facility in West Point, Georgia.

The Production Group Leader will lead team members, oversee daily production activities, provide established work standards, and ensure that safety, quality, cost, and productivity objectives are achieved.

The ideal candidate will have leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive. Candidates should possess strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and team-development skills. Relevant military leadership and operations experience may be considered as part of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor safety, quality, cost, and productivity while supporting daily improvement activities.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable IATF/TS 16949 and ISO 14001 standards and implementation goals.
  • Direct multiple Team Leaders and their respective production zones.
  • Perform production-line input and administrative responsibilities as required.
  • Prevent defects from advancing to the next work process by promoting first-time quality.
  • Motivate, train, coach, and develop Team Leaders and Team Members.
  • Ensure employees perform their assigned responsibilities using established methods and procedures.
  • Empower team members to improve their work by identifying and eliminating production constraints.
  • Implement structured problem-solving processes to address operational issues.
  • Create and maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented production environment.
  • Meet departmental budget requirements and identify cost-improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate across departmental and cultural lines to achieve production targets and organizational goals.
  • Communicate production performance, staffing needs, and operational concerns to management.

Qualifications and Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two to five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • One to two years of experience in a related production or operational area.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team-lead experience.
  • Ability to work second shift and support overtime or changing production schedules when required.
  • Strong teamwork orientation.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective follow-up, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work onsite in West Point, Georgia.

Specialized Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing shop processes and production-tool technology preferred.
  • Demonstrated production supervision and team-management skills.
  • Familiarity with safety, quality, cost, productivity, and continuous-improvement principles.

Military Experience

Military veterans with relevant leadership, production, logistics, maintenance, quality, training, or operational experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience serving as a noncommissioned officer, commissioned officer, instructor, or operations leader may be considered when evaluating leadership qualifications.
