Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday with Saturday rotation.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform functions and responsibilities of a Pharmacy Clerk, operating a cash register and scanning terminal.
Keep inventory or current medications and process orders for new medication shipments.
Fills and documents medication orders, prepares, labels, and documents IV products under the direct clinical supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Able to effectively communicate with customers and associates.

Prepares and delivers medications to units via manual or automated dispensing machines.
Initiates telephone calls, receives/screens/routes incoming questions and calls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

18 years of age verified by valid driver’s license
High School Graduate
Pharmacy Technician License or ability to obtain within 2 years
BLS Certification or willing to obtain

Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Skill in operating a computer and calculator; knowledge of computer hardware, word processing and spreadsheet programs, and data communications
Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively
Requires full range of body motion with frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching
Ability to change from one duty to another frequently
Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet unit needs
Ability to follow written or verbal instructions exactly
