Franciscan Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Centralized Scheduler. In this important role, you will help ensure patients receive timely access to care by coordinating appointments and procedures across our healthcare system. If you enjoy organization, patient interaction, and supporting seamless care delivery, this is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact outside of a traditional bedside role.

Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week Monday-Friday, day shift.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scheduling hospital - lab tests, radiology tests, outpatient specialty clinic, outpatient infusions/injections, surgical patients, and clinic appointments. 
  • Contacting insurance companies regarding pre-authorization of exams, tests, procedures. 
  • Responsible for receiving and placing Provider orders in patient charts.
  • Responsible for pre-appointment patient education.

QUALIFICATIONS:   

Education and/or Experience 

  • Medical knowledge/ background
  • Nursing degree, LPN, or Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Other Competencies

  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships and to interact positively and productively with team members.
  • Interpersonal skills requiring courtesy and tact are necessary to communicate effectively with people seeking services to provide necessary information and be aware of possible resources for information.
  • Critical reasoning skills necessary to organize workload and prioritize incoming telephone calls. 
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Understand technical information from managers, charts, reference books, and manuals.
  • Ability to record information accurately and follow instructions exactly.
  • Compliance with HIPAA
