Job Summary

Reporting to the SVP of Enterprise Support Services, the System Sr. Facilities Management Director leads, directs and manages all Facilities Management, Plant Operations, Project Management & Construction, Energy Management, and Infrastructure Stabilization initiatives across the full Physical Plant asset inventory for Tower Health including Reading Hospital, Phoenixville Hospital, Pottstown Hospital, St. Christophers Children’s Hospital, and the entire off-site real estate portfolio.

  • Responsible for the development, and execution of Operational and Capital Budgets to the business elements assigned in conjunction with board, administrative, clinical, support and operational division/departmental leadership to ensure that buildings, equipment, utilities and supporting infrastructure meet our current and future clinical and operational needs.
  • Assures full regulatory compliance with the applicable AHJ laws, standards, guidelines, regulations, and licensures.
  • Responsible for direct oversight of Facilities Management staff in Tower Health hospitals and ancillary facilities. 
  • Primary point in the development and execution of a “Best in Class” standardized Facilities Operations program to include a systemized management approach to all aspects of the environment of care.
  • Responsible for the development of a staffing model that ensures long-term cost-effective operations across more than five million square feet of healthcare facility space.
  • Responsible for ensuring collaboration between FM/PDC, and all other system support service verticals.

Qualifications

Education/Certification Requirements:

 

  • 4-year Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Engineering Field; required 
  • Attainment of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers CHFM Certified Healthcare Facility Manager Designation 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum ten years' Facilities Management experience in a multi-site Acute Care setting
  • Expert in hospital specific codes and standards for plant operations. Including Joint Commission, Department of Health, National Fire Protection Association, BOCA, OSHA, ADA, and GCEH. 
  • Knowledge of building trades including electrical, plumbing, HVAC-R, & Carpentry. 
  • Knowledge and experience in management of complex physical plant systems including High Pressure Steam, Co-Generation, High Tonnage Cooling Systems, enterprise-wide Building Automation Systems
  • Experience with Capital Planning and Budgeting
  • Experience in the execution of a proven Deferred Maintenance/Infrastructure Stabilization plan
