Skilled Nursing Facility Medical Biller

Lakeview Health Center, West Salem, WI

Full‑Time (65 to 80 hours per pay period)

 

Position Summary

The SNF Medical Biller is responsible for accurately billing Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private insurance for skilled nursing facility services. This role ensures timely claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Starting Wage: $23.99 - $27.16 per hour (DOE)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit claims for SNF services (Medicare Part A, Part B, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private pay).
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for new and existing residents.
  • Review MDS, UB‑04s, therapy minutes, and supporting documentation for billing accuracy.
  • Monitor AR aging and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
  • Process adjustments, rebills, and appeals as needed.
  • Post payments, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Communicate with insurance companies, residents, families, and internal departments.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state Medicaid rules, and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with admissions, nursing, therapy, and finance teams to resolve billing issues.

Other Responsibilities

  • Provide backup for other staff as needed
  • Manage special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of SNF or healthcare billing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare Part A/PDPM, Medicaid, and Managed Care billing.
  • Experience with UB‑04 forms, MDS, and electronic billing systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
