Job DetailsJob Location: Stockbridge, MA 01262Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Associates DegreeSalary Range: $21.00 - $23.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: AnyJob Category: SalesPosition Summary:    The Kripalu Shop Assistant Manager leads and manages the daily activities of the Kripalu Shop, Shop Team, and Café. The Assistant Manager owns the overall Shops transformational experience of Kripalu guests by driving daily revenue, Visual execution, cleanliness and delivery of the tools and products that enhance their experience, both during their retreat visit and at home. This position is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operations of the shop, cafe, and shop team run smoothly and partners with Shop Leadership to optimize revenue and execute retail strategy.     SALARY INFORMATION   Hourly, Non – Exempt role  Min: 21 dollars – Max: 23 dollars       Accountabilities:   Serve as the primary Manager-on-Duty, overseeing daily shop operations and ensuring smooth floor coverage during assigned shifts.  Lead, develop and support Shop Leads and Associates on the floor, providing real-time coaching to ensure a welcoming, guest-centered experience aligned with Kripalu’s mission.  Create and manage weekly staff schedules, adjusting coverage based on program enrollment, guest traffic, and operational needs; review and respond to time-off requests.  Accountable for Delegated aspects of budget within the shop for labor hours and schedule management.   Support hiring, onboarding, and training of Shop staff in partnership with the Shop Manager, helping ensure new team members are prepared for success.  Monitor daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, POS operations, visual merchandising standards, and overall shop presentation.  Address guest and staff concerns and operational issues as they arise, resolving them when possible and escalating to the Shop Manager or People & Culture when appropriate.  Directly responsible for a subset of shop employees as directed or delegated by the shop manager.   Partner with Shop Leads to maintain strong floor coverage, stepping in as needed to support the team during busy periods or staffing gaps.  Ensure adherence to shop policies, safety procedures, and operational expectations, maintaining a consistent and supportive work environment.  Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the Kripalu.       Core Competencies:   Embodies a strong leadership presence and ability to guide, motivate, and support a team on the floor.  Ability to problem solve in the moment, while maintaining organizational and time management skills  Communicates clearly and respectfully with all staff, guests, presenters, and other departments.  Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, actively contributing to a welcoming and respectful environment for all.  Embodies Kripalu’s core values of love, wholeness, unity, service, and evolution in all aspects of work and interaction.  QualificationsEssential Skills and Experience   Associate's degree preferred; or 2-3 years of managing a dynamic retail environment   Prior Experience managing customer service and retail support staff, and including responsibility for scheduling, development of team, and revenue.   Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.  Knowledge and experience with POS software.  Work hours occur on a variable schedule which could include early mornings, mornings, afternoons, evenings, late nights or overnights as well as weekends and holidays, based on the department and organizational needs.  Ability and willingness to be flexible in schedule to cover any scheduling gaps (lead and associate-level) when needed.
