Position Summary

The HR/Payroll Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily human resources and payroll operations to ensure an accurate, efficient, and positive employee experience. This role administers recruiting and onboarding activities, supports payroll processing, maintains employee records, assists with benefits administration, and helps ensure compliance with company policies and employment regulations. The HR/Payroll Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for employee questions related to onboarding, benefits, payroll and HR programs while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all aspects of the role.

 

Key Responsibilities


Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Facilitates new hire onboarding and ensures all required employment documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Posts and manages job requisitions.
  • Coordinates candidate communications and hiring logistics.
  • Works with hiring managers to create a positive candidate and onboarding experience.

 

Payroll

  • Assists with accurate, on-time payroll processing, to include employee changes, timekeeping records, deductions, and tax-related information.
  • Prepares HR and payroll reports, audits, and documentation as needed.

 

Leave Administration

  • Administers employee leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations.
  • Prepares, processes, and maintains leave documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies.
  • Communicates with employees, managers, and third-party administrators regarding leave eligibility, documentation, and return-to-work processes.

 

Employee Support

  • Answers employee benefit questions and assists with benefit administration, open enrollment, and employee inquiries.
  • Responds to employee questions regarding payroll, benefits, policies, and procedures.

 

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintains accurate employee records and HRIS data while ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Completes employment verifications, work authorization requests, unemployment claims, and other employment-related documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Conducts internal HR audits to ensure documentation accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in payroll, human resources, or a related administrative role.
  • Knowledge of employment law, leave absence administration, payroll regulations, and other federal and state employment regulations.
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, and HR operations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.

 

Work Schedule and Location

This is a full-time, in-office position located at our office in South Salt Lake. General office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
