At Total Equipment Management, our Yard Technicians play an important role in keeping our equipment organized, clean, safe, and ready for our customers. We’re looking for a dependable team member who takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and understands the importance of safety and customer service. What You’ll Do As a Yard Technician, you’ll help maintain an organized, clean, and customer-ready equipment yard while supporting the daily operations of the branch. Your responsibilities will include: • Safely load and unload construction and rental equipment. • Organize and maintain equipment inventory throughout the yard. • Assist with the overall appearance, cleanliness, and arrangement of equipment in the yard. • Clean equipment and operate a pressure washer to keep units customer-ready. • Safely operate compact construction equipment as needed. • Inspect equipment for cleanliness, condition, and readiness. • Assist other departments with equipment movement and other tasks as needed. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. • Follow company safety procedures and industry-related safety regulations. • Provide professional and helpful service to customers and coworkers. • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Yard or Branch Manager. • Exemplify the Total Equipment Core Values: Teamwork, Excellence, Passion, Integrity, and Customer First.   What You Bring We’re looking for someone who is dependable, hardworking, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in an active outdoor environment. Qualifications include: • Ability to safely operate compact construction equipment. • Ability to take direction and work well with others. • Knowledge of industry-related safety practices and regulations. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. • Customer service-oriented attitude. • Dependable attendance and a willingness to assist wherever needed. • Ability to work effectively in changing weather and outdoor conditions. QualificationsEducation & Experience • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Previous experience operating construction, rental, or other heavy equipment is preferred but not required. • Previous yard, warehouse, equipment rental, or construction experience is a plus. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position requiring the ability to: • Lift and pull 40 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally. • Bend, stretch, kneel, stand, lie, squat, and climb while moving and loading equipment. • Safely operate tools, pressure washers, and equipment. • Traverse various terrain throughout the yard and branch facilities. • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Work safely in areas with noise, dust, and various odors. • Maintain the physical ability necessary to perform the duties of the position.
