Job Title: Bar Soap Production Supervisor – 2nd Shift

Date: March 2,2026

Division: Operations                            

Reports to:  Production Manager (RI Manufacturing)

 

Position Summary: The Bar Soap Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing daily operations of assigned bar soap production lines. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations while achieving production, quality, cost, and delivery objectives. The Supervisor provides leadership in a unionized manufacturing environment and drives continuous improvement across people, processes, and equipment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, supervise, and develop production personnel; assign work, monitor performance, and provide coaching and corrective action as needed.
  2. Ensure daily production targets, efficiency metrics, and operational KPIs are achieved and sustained.
  3. Provide hands-on floor leadership and real-time direction to shift employees.
  4. Coordinate with Maintenance to schedule and execute preventative maintenance, repairs, and equipment installations.
  5. Ensure all products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  6. Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and departmental documentation.
  7. Approve and manage timekeeping and payroll-related documentation for assigned employees.
  8. Administer the collective bargaining agreement in alignment with Company policies and operational objectives.
  9. Participate in workforce planning, staffing recommendations, job bidding processes, and hiring activities.
  10. Ensure compliance with Company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and all regulatory requirements.
  11. Promote a culture of safety; enforce safety standards and conduct investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up on workplace incidents.
  12. Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
  13. Perform other duties consistent with the nature and scope of the position.

  1. Vendors and service providers

 

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  2. Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  3. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  4. Demonstrated ability to work independently under broad operational guidelines.
  5. Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide both strategic direction and direct floor-level supervision.
  6. Sound judgment and problem-solving skills related to manufacturing processes and equipment.
  7. Effective verbal and written communication skills; capable of conflict resolution and labor relations management.
  8. Experience in employee selection, performance management, discipline, and termination processes.
  9. Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  10. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe manufacturing practices.
  11. Ability to perform moderate physical activity and spend extended periods on the production floor.
  12.  Proficiency with standard office and computer equipment.
  13. Understanding of policies and procedures applicable to a unionized work environment.
  14. Flexibility to work extended hours as operational needs require.

 

 

Working Conditions:

  1. Continuous exposure to manufacturing environment including noise, moving machinery, temperature variation, and production materials.
  2. Regular standing, walking, and occasional lifting consistent with production floor activity.
