Description

  

Lead Line Cook performs a variety of kitchen/restaurant related tasks including food preparation, product stocking and proper rotation, food prep, and up to Serve Safe standards cleaning duties. Training staff, ensuring standards are being followed. 


Responsibilities and Duties 

  

· Stock supplies, products and utensils throughout the kitchen and general cleaning of the kitchen and stock areas.

· Sets up station according to restaurant guidelines.

· Prepare all food items as directed, in a sanitary and timely manner.

· Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant.

·  Perform other job-related duties as assigned by Executive Chef.

· Leads throughout the shift and ensures a successful flow of service. 

Requirements

  

· High school education or equivalent preferred.

· Previous lead or line cook experience (2 years).

· Knowledge of cooking procedures, temperatures and kitchen equipment.

· Knowledge of safety rules for kitchen equipment.

· Maintain safety in a high-pace and hot environment.

· Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.

· Ability to prioritize and organize, uses time efficiently.

· Actively promote and personally observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.

· Ability to read and satisfactorily communicate in English with co-workers and management to their understanding.

· Stay self-motivated in work environment.

· Outgoing personality, positive attitude, strong communication skills, and pleasant clean appearance. 

· Ability to prepare food according to Serve Safe guidelines.

· Ability to follow training guides, prepare and assist with training new and existing Team Members.

· Cross trained in all venues with the ability to fully understand how to prepare all menu items and follow standards established by the Executive Chef.  


WORKING CONDITIONS: This position typically works varied shifts, including weekend and holidays. Must be able to lift 75 pounds.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work in a fast-paced, kitchen/restaurant environment.  Must be able to stand, walk or sit for long periods of time, speak and hear, write, finger and feel, lift and carry up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.) and occasionally more.  Employee frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and endure variable temperature conditions (extreme hot or cold).  Must be 21 years of age or older.
