Position Summary

At the Westborough Design Center, our Product Development teams provide solutions to our customers through the design and development of AC-DC and DC-DC power supplies.  In this role, you will:

  • Support ongoing production by ensuring the availability, reliability, and compliance of electronic components used in our products (DC/DC converters & Digital Panel Meters). This role focuses on evaluating component changes, identifying suitable alternatives, managing end‑of‑life (EOL) risks, and collaborating with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams to maintain product continuity and quality.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide Second Source analysis and investigation for EOL alternatives of electronic components.
  • Extract parametric information for the requested components.
  • Determine RoHS status of components.
  • Obtain supplementary information from component manufacturers.
  • Evaluate similarity of components for manufacturers.
  • Suggest alternate manufacturers when match is not satisfactory.
  • Enforce corporate and site component selection rules.
  • Utilize internal business process systems to raise ECR, TCO etc.
  • Perform test analysis on the test bench to compare performance specifications.
  • Write test reports as required.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and internal/external customers regarding technical parameters.
  • Serve as resource for sustaining issues related to electrical components.
  • Assign part numbers for custom electrical and mechanical components/assemblies and manage AMLs (Approved Manufacturers Lists).
  • Work with supply chain, quality engineers, offsite manufacturing, and component vendors and component engineers at other sites.

Experience Required

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of active and passive electronic components used in electronic power converters.
  • Knowledge of DC/DC and panel meter operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Excellent organization skills, attention to detail.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data and determine root cause of component problems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers.
  • Practical skills to perform basic electrical tests
  • Knowledge of test equipment – oscilloscope, power sources, meters etc.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • 0-3 yrs experience in an Electronics manufacturing/engineering lab environment preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate changing deadlines.
  • Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Experience using PLM / internal business process systems (eg ARAS).

This position is an on-site role, with one flex day per week of remote work.

Compensation Data

Salary range for this role is $85,000/year to $98,400/year. The range listed is based on market data and internal benchmarks. Actual compensation may vary depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications.
