Purpose & Scope

The Warehouse Associate II is responsible for warehouse activities and duties, including shipping and receiving raw materials and/or finished goods, in addition to maintaining inventory and associated records within a GMP/ISO environment.  The role is responsible for proper warehousing and inventory maintenance of GMP raw materials, components, and suppliers; performing GMP warehouse duties, maintain accurate inventory records, and transport GMP raw materials, components, supplies and essential in-process related solutions from the central warehouse to the appropriate manufacturing and lab facilities; aid with shipping of material to outside sites.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas, ensuring accuracy of receiving of GMP incoming material, filling GMP material requests from production, R&D and PD, and packaging materials for shipments
  • Ensure inventory transactions are accurately logged, perform cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
  • Organize, secure, and maintain material inventory and non-GMP storage area
  • Verify quantities and perform visual inspection for cosmetic defects of all products received into the GMP warehouse
  • Communicate job expectations and assist in the training of new employees
  • Interact with customers and delivery personnel to answer questions and/or resolve problems
  • Work with Management team to ensure an orderly and safe work environment
  • Assist with the gathering of warehouse metrics and create new ones as needed, per management
  • The Warehouse Associate II is responsible for warehouse activities to ensure inventories are maintained and accurate records are kept. The position includes responsibilities that include training, planning, coordinating daily work, and addressing and resolving performance issues and problems.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with 1+ plus years direct working experience in bio/pharma industry in warehouse/materials operations, or High School diploma with 2-3 plus years of direct work experience in the bio/pharma industry in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; excellent basic math skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in planning and organizing work efficiently, able to work under time constraints and be flexible to meet changing deadlines along with prior experience leading and development direct reports.
  • Proven experience using manual and motorized warehouse equipment, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc
  • Must have regular and predictable attendance and can work different shifts as needed
  • Will support and demonstrate quality standards to ensure data of highest quality
  • Works closely with team and other functional key stakeholders on the Astellas MA-TC Technical Operations team to execute work and will be expected to perform other duties and/or special projects, as assigned.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GMP and/or ISO manufacturing and warehouse systems
  • Experience in Biotech or Pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
  • Computer literate with inventory systems experience

 

 

Location and Working Environment

  • This role frequently requires long periods of sitting, standing and use of regular motion to include bending, stooping, lifting, overhead reaching actions, carrying, or moving and positioning objects up to 30lbs.
  • This is an on-site role working in a cGMP Regulated Manufacturing facility.
  • On occasion, this role may travel to other Astellas Cell Therapy manufacturing facilities or other affiliated facilities. (0-5%)

Salary Range

$42.61-$60.87 (Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and organizational equity considerations)
