Role Overview

The Assistant Superintendent works under the direction of the General Superintendent to supervises crews and equipment, coordinates installation of all trades work, administers good construction safety practices on all on-site activities, and ensures that the project schedule is met. The Assistant Superintendent also maintains the job site office and proactively assists the Principals with project close out and commissioning. 

Please note, this role is on site, full-time in Westbrook, ME. We are open to travel accommodations if you do not live near the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates, directs and supervises all construction activities.
  • Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
  • Maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors and other employees.
  • Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and immediately rectifies job site hazards.
  • Maintains an organized job site construction office.
  • Creates and maintains job files and logs.
  • Assist Principals bid packages, RFPs and RFIs.
  • Work with General Superintendent to define and delegate responsibilities and set goals for subcontractors.  
  • Coordinate engineering and municipal inspections as required


Qualifications

  • Qualifications & Skills 
  • Must hold an active unrestricted Massachusetts CSL
  • Must have OSHA-10; OSHA-30 preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year construction industry experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of project supervision experience in residential multi-family construction of projects with 24+ units preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering discipline preferred.
  • Experienced in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production family construction of all phases of residential multi
  • Must be able to read, interpret and coordinate drawings and specifications.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Experience or competence in Builder Trend, AutoCAD, and Revu preferred.
  • Experience using mobile devices for project management.
