Position Summary
The Food Production Floater supports daily production operations by working in multiple departments based on staffing and production needs. This position may rotate throughout the Kitchen, Baking, Cooling Room, Frosting, and Packing areas.
The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to learn multiple production functions. The Floater helps ensure products are produced, handled, decorated, and packaged according to company standards for quality, food safety, productivity, and accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work in different production departments as assigned throughout the shift.
- Assist with food preparation and production in the Kitchen area.
- Support the Baking area, including preparing products for baking and assisting with production processes.
- Work in the Cooling Room, handling and moving products according to established procedures.
- Assist in the Frosting area, including frosting, decorating, and preparing products for the next stage of production.
- Support the Packing area by packaging, labeling, inspecting, and preparing finished products for shipment.
- Follow recipes, production instructions, work procedures, and quality standards.
- Inspect products for quality and report damaged, incorrect, or out-of-spec products to leadership.
- Maintain required production pace while focusing on quality and accuracy.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, GMP, and personal hygiene requirements.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep assigned work areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitation activities as required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and team members when moving between departments.
- Be available to change work areas during the shift based on production priorities and staffing needs.
- Perform other production-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability and willingness to learn and perform multiple food production functions.
- Dependable attendance and ability to report to work on time for the 6:00 AM start.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to product quality, food safety, and cleanliness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Previous food production, manufacturing, bakery, kitchen, or packing experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, push, pull, and lift materials as required by the assigned department.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on the production area, including warmer baking areas and cooler production/cooling areas.
- Ability to safely perform the physical requirements associated with food production and packaging operations.

Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
The Food Production Floater must be flexible and prepared to work in the Kitchen, Baking, Cooling Room, Frosting, or Packing department based on daily operational needs. Employees may be reassigned between areas during the same shift to support production goals.
