Position Overview
The Host/Hostess serves as the first and last impression of The Medallion Club experience, providing a warm, polished, and professional welcome to members and guests. This role manages reservations, coordinates seating, and ensures smooth communication between the front‑of‑house and culinary teams. The ideal candidate is personable, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a refined, member‑focused environment where hospitality and excellence are top priorities.
Essential Responsibilities
- Greet members and guests promptly with professionalism, warmth, and a welcoming demeanor.
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and table assignments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain an organized host stand and up‑to‑date seating chart.
- Escort members and guests to their tables and present menus with polished service.
- Communicate clearly with servers, bartenders, and managers to support smooth service flow.
- Receive and place to‑go orders, ensuring accuracy and warm service (tips included).
- Monitor dining room pace and assist in balancing table rotations.
- Answer phone calls courteously and assist with inquiries regarding dining, events, and club activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entryway, host area, and dining room.
- Uphold club standards of appearance, etiquette, and confidentiality.
- Assist with special events, banquets, and member functions as needed.
- Demonstrate a commitment to service, teamwork, and upholding club standards.
Experience
- Previous host, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
- Experience in a private club, upscale restaurant, or hotel environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with reservation systems preferred.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Hospitality coursework or training is a plus.
