Position Overview

The Lifeguard plays an essential role in supporting The Medallion Club experience by ensuring a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment at our aquatic facilities. This position is responsible for maintaining vigilant supervision, enforcing safety standards, and providing attentive service that reflects our commitment to excellence and a member‑focused environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Monitor all pool areas to ensure member and guest safety while upholding club standards and established policies.
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, administering first aid, CPR, and AED procedures as required.
• Contact emergency medical services when necessary and follow proper incident‑reporting protocols.
• Perform routine pool maintenance, including vacuuming, cleaning drains, and maintaining overall deck cleanliness.
• Conduct regular water quality testing.
• Assist with pool admissions.
• Provide swimming instruction when assigned, ensuring a positive and supportive learning environment.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the safe, efficient, and member‑focused operation of the aquatic facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 years.
• Current certifications in Lifeguard Training, CPR, AED, and First Aid from the American Red Cross or an equivalent agency.
• Strong swimming proficiency and the physical capability to perform water rescues.
• Excellent observational skills with the ability to remain attentive for extended periods.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to enforce rules professionally and respectfully.
• A service‑driven mindset and commitment to upholding high standards of safety and hospitality.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to swim proficiently and support another individual’s weight in the water during rescue situations.
• Ability to perform physical rescues and assist individuals in distress.
• Ability to work outdoors for prolonged periods in varying weather conditions.
