Position Purpose:

Retail Pharmacy Technician, within the scope of the Ohio Administrative Code, will provide timely, accurate, cost effective, and patient-centric pharmaceutical care under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist

What you will do:

  • 路 Will assist Pharmacists in the retrieval, processing, preparation, and distribution of medications for patient administration which includes:
  • 路 Accurate preparation of patient medications
  • 路 Accurate and timely delivery of patient specific medications
  • 路 Assist with enrollment and processing of Meds2Beds patient medications
  • 路 Maintain inventory, medication replenishments, and drug stock
  • 路 Assist the Pharmacist with medication or patient care related issues
  • 路 Assist the Pharmacist with prior authorizations for medications
  • 路 Documents the distribution of medication for proper use and reimbursement in accordance with department policy.
  • 路 Enter information into and retrieving information from an electronic health record or prescription processing computer system.
  • 路 Insurance claims processing.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 路 Education: High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • 路 Licensure / Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPT) provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)
  • 路 Experience: Six months of experience in a retail pharmacy or a hospital-based ambulatory pharmacy
  • 路 18 years of age or older with no felony convictions, per Ohio Revised Code 4729.42
  • 路 Maintains registration throughout the course of employment
