JOB SUMMARYThe Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting will primarily focus on coordinating the gathering and assembling of information required for Vertiv’s external reporting requirements. The person in this position will prepare and analyze financial information, assist in adhoc technical accounting research, comply with internal control procedures and maintain effective SOX compliance and documentation. Higher performers in this role have the ability for promotion within the department or elsewhere in the organization.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES: This role is responsible for the preparation of financial and business-related analyses and research in such areas necessary for the creation of all SEC reporting requirements.   

  • Prepare financial reporting documents, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K and related XBRL documents, and assist in filing them on a timely basis with the SEC.  Ensure that financial statements provide transparency and fairly report the Company’s results and financial condition.
  • Support Investor Relations and Corporate Communications in the creation of earnings releases, investor materials, and responses to analyst questions.
  • Keep current with SEC developments and changes in our business and industry to ensure that their effects are properly reflected in the SEC filings and other deliverables.
  • Ensure internal control procedures in place are maintained according to SOX compliance.
  • Assist in preparation of annual 401k financial statements (Form 11-K).
  • Providing support to the annual external audit and quarterly review processes by coordinating efforts and requirements of financial reporting and the external auditor.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with other Accounting functions, Finance, IT, Legal, and HR, and provide support and expert guidance for special projects and programs. 
  • Support ad hoc projects as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Minimum Qualifications: (education, experience level, knowledge, skills, designations/certifications).

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. CPA is preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in public accounting or relevant experience.
  • Big 4/Regional Public accounting experience is strongly preferred. 
  • Experience in SOX control execution and documentation.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC Rules and Regulations.
  • Strong research skills and ability to form opinions/interpretations on accounting standards.
  • Very proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications.

Preferred Qualifications: Big 4 public accounting – specifically audit function
