Vertiv is seeking a high-performing Manager, Vertiv Operating System (VOS) to drive Lean transformation, governance support, and continuous improvement across the enterprise. This role partners with both enabling functions and business units to embed Lean thinking, improve process discipline, and strengthen Vertiv’s operating system through coaching, facilitation, and aligned leadership routines.
The VOS Manager supports governance, leads improvement projects tied to governance maturity, and accelerates adoption of VOS standards while serving as a coach, integrator, and change leader across teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Governance Support & Operating System Maturity
- Support the development, deployment, and refinement of VOS governance standards, routines, and frameworks.
- Lead projects and change initiatives that strengthen VOS maturity, alignment, and compliance across functions.
- Coordinate updates to VOS documentation and process guidance.
- Monitor governance-related KPIs and provide insights to leadership to support decision-making.
- Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities within governance processes and collaborate with stakeholders to implement improvements.
- Ensure consistency and alignment of VOS processes, KPIs, and maturity practices across business units and enabling functions.
2. Business Unit & Functional Support
- Serve as a partner and coach to business units and functional leaders deploying VOS.
- Support teams in establishing high-performance routines, standard work, visual management, and structured problem solving.
- Facilitate alignment of VOS practices across Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Marketing, Strategy, and operational teams.
- Drive cross-functional integration and alignment of operating practices, expectations, and performance rhythms.
3. Coaching, Facilitation & Lean Deployment
- Coach leaders and teams in Lean methodologies, maturity assessments, process design, and continuous improvement tools.
- Facilitate Kaizen events, workshops, and root‑cause problem‑solving sessions that generate measurable improvements.
- Guide teams in developing ownership, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide structured coaching plans and support based on maturity levels and functional needs.
4. Continuous Improvement Program Support
- Support the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of Vertiv’s CI programs and capability-building initiatives.
- Coach Green Belts, CI practitioners, and functional improvement teams through structured problem-solving.
- Collaborate with CI leadership to align CI initiatives with VOS standards and governance structures.
- Assist with program assessments, capability development, program administration and measuring CI program effectiveness.
- Promote sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and improvement successes across regions and business units.
5. Cross-Functional Alignment & Change Leadership
- Lead change initiatives that enable adoption of VOS standards, governance requirements, and maturity improvements.
- Partner with VOS leadership to support enterprise-level initiatives that require strong operating system execution.
- Drive alignment across functions and remove barriers to engagement, execution, and sustainability.
- Support VOS strategic planning by providing feedback on system performance, gaps, and opportunities.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (7–10+ years).
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (required).
- 5–7+ years’ experience in Lean, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or transformation roles.
- Proven success leading Lean projects and guiding change across global, matrixed environments.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting governance frameworks or operating mechanisms.
- Excellent documentation, process development, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with common business tools; Power BI and Smartsheet experience preferred.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with maturity models, organizational change frameworks, or process governance.
- Experience supporting both enabling functions and operational business units.
