Job Summary
The Thermodynamic HVAC Engineer is part of the Thermal Management team within the Engineering and R&D Department, preferably based in Columbus OH (Westerville, OH). The position reports to an Engineering Manager, and the research and development scope is on global products supporting Chilled Water Systems product line.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of new R&D products in the data center cooling sector for high profile and well known global datacenter customersÂ
- Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market-leading innovation.
- Lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the customer’s needs
- Approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material)Â
- Meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needsÂ
- Analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringÂ
- 3-5 years of previous working experience on similar projects, ideally in the HVAC sector with particularly competence on liquid chillers design
- Excellent knowledge of thermodynamic and refrigeration principlesÂ
- English – Intermediate level – written and spoken
- High level of motivation combined with leadership abilitiesÂ
- Competences: result-oriented, team player, careful to details, flexibleÂ
- Available to travel if neededÂ
The anticipated salary range for this role in the MN locality is between $92,000 to $126,500 per year (based on a 40-hour work week)]—salary ranges for other geographic localities may vary. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance and are role based. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to receive and/or participate in profit sharing, allowances, travel and/or car expenses, and earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization depending on the terms of the employee’s role and individual offer details. The role is eligible to participate in a comprehensive and competitive benefits program, including medical, dental, vision, disability, PTO, holiday pay, and 401k.
