Job Position Summary:Â Responsible for set up of all deburring equipment and complete standards set by the customer by performing the following duties.
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ Years of complex burring experience
- Experience in Aerospace industry Preferred.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Mechanical Aptitude
- Strong attention to detailÂ
- Organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills
- Time Management Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
- Required to pass the Certified Operator Program and maintain certification status. (Tell Only)
- Ability to read and understand cutting and deburring instructions from work orders, prints or verbal orders.
- Ability to use 10,000 RPM air gun, cutoff wheels, and abrasive deburring equipment such as hand head motorized grinders, belt sanders, wire brushes, scrapers, files and other related tools.
- Able to form full radius on parts to conform to blueprints.
- Able to work to fine finishes using borescopes with up to 7-30 power magnification.
- Must be able to work well with others and independently with minimum supervision.Â
- Ability to do both complex external and internal deburring of parts.
- Ability to meet productions rate.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety regulation and standard. Follow Safety culture and wear PPE when required.
- Operates a Burring Equipment. Deburrs external and complex internal components.
- Removes all loose burrs using assorted abrasive tooling.
- Follows Ops sheets, and verbal instructions to specification.
- Uses cutoff wheels, and abrasive deburring equipment.
- Operate within AS9100/ISO9001 requirements to include proper documentation, revision control, traceability, and lot control.
- Verifies and visually inspects work and dimensions per operations sheet to specification using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and preset gages.
- Fills out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
- Reports any problems or discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
- Maintains tools, gages, and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Works to fine finishes using scopes with up to 30 power magnification.
- Form full radius on parts to conform to blueprints.
- Blends finishes meeting customer specifications.
- Assist in training other Burrhands.
- Follow 6s Procedures and maintains a clean organized work area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes, dust, and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges, and forklifts.
- May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
- May have to lift up to thirty (30) pounds at a time, as required.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
First Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
