As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will join our Mechanical HVAC Design Team in our Westfield, MA; Woburn, MA; or Westwood, MA office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Our Building Services Team and Projects  Our Building Services team, composed of skilled engineers and technical leaders, is key to optimizing building performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. While our work often goes unseen, it ensures the seamless operation of critical systems. We collaborate with architects and contractors to deliver integrated solutions across vertical structures, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection while focusing on sustainability and efficiency.
Responsibilities, Requirements, and Total Rewards
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist with the design of mechanical air systems and hydronic systems including drawings, flow diagrams, and details
- Support heating and cooling load calculations using industry-standard tools/software
- Assist in the preparation of mechanical design documents using AutoCAD and Revit
- Participate in construction site visits and field surveys of existing mechanical systems
What You Will NeedÂ
- Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Coursework or experience in heating/cooling load calculations or thermodynamics
- Previous and relevant internship experience
- Interest in pursuing the FE Exam
- Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems
- Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness
Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Hands-on experience with design software such as AutoCAD MEP, Revit, or other 3D modeling/visualization tools
- At least 2 years of completed coursework in an accredited college/university level academic program
- Previous internship experience in mechanical system design or construction support
