The FI Data Solutions team is looking for a highly motivated Software Engineer to join the FI AI and Analytics Platform (FAAP) team. This role is ideal for engineers with a strong foundation in software development who are eager to grow their skills in cloud-native systems, data platforms, and AI/ML infrastructure.

As a member of the FAAP team, you will help build and maintain a platform that enables scalable AI and analytics solutions across the organization. You will work closely with product owners, architects, and other engineers to design, build, test, and deploy platform capabilities that power data-driven and machine learning use cases.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 plus years of software engineering or platform engineering experience
  • Hands-on experience with Python and modern software development practices
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS
  • Experience with containerization (Docker) and source control systems (Git)
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and shell scripting

Nice to Have:

  • Basic knowledge of Java (ability to work with an existing codebase)
  • Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins or similar)
  • Awareness of data processing or machine learning workflows

The Expertise You Have:

  • Solid understanding of programming fundamentals, object-oriented design, and software development best practices
  • Experience writing clean, testable code (unit testing, mocking frameworks such as Pytest or unittest)
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and service-based architectures (e.g., FastAPI or similar frameworks)
  • Basic understanding of AWS services such as S3, IAM, Lambda, or container-based workloads
  • Understanding of Git workflows including branching strategies and pull requests
  • Exposure to build and deployment automation concepts

  • Build and maintain reliable, scalable components within the FAAP ecosystem
  • Participate in code reviews and follow engineering standards, best practices, and team conventions
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure provisioning efforts
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in development and production environments with attention to detail
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, architecture, and other engineering squads
  • Continuously learn and adopt new tools and technologies within the AI/ML and cloud platform space

The FI AI and Analytics Platform (FAAP) team builds and supports a cloud-native platform that enables the development and deployment of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions at scale. The team focuses on providing reusable capabilities, standardized tooling, and efficient workflows that accelerate innovation across Fidelity.

You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment that emphasizes learning, ownership, and continuous improvement, while contributing to impactful solutions used across the enterprise.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
