As an Accounting Specialist II your responsibilities will consist of performing a variety of accounting and operational tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Your work will help impact the lives of our Members and Employees – you can make a difference! 

JOB REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the daily balancing of the branches and credit union including preparation of the daily depo
  • Process incoming and outgoing wire requests from Members on a daily basis; prepares the incoming wires GL posting entries.
  • Balances Member Trailer Totals to the GL every day. Creates and enters data into Prologue GL system as needed.
  • Processes corporate VISA card transactions and employee reimbursement requests in a timely manner. Research outstanding corporate VISA charges when necessary.
  • Acts as the front office posting teller for the accounting department for member inquiries, and employee requests.
  • Primary backup for other Accounting Specialists for Member returns, ATM hot card requests, and levies.
  • Research member accounts when disputes arise and answers member inquiries accurately and timely.
  • Primary responsible for the daily balancing of credit union checks and submits positive pay file in a timely manner each daily.
  • Reconciles and posts the daily Indirect ending Dealer Reserve payments and balances to the FAS 91 program.
  • Acts as backup for the other Accounting Specialists as needed, including posting closed account activity to ChexSystems in a timely manner, NSF returns, and Levies.
  • Assists with the processing of various legal requests accurately and timely including Levies and Subpoenas.
  • Maintains accurate and timely filing of checks and other accounting data.
  • Prepares the quarterly IRA backup withholding reports and transmits to the State on a quarterly and annual basis.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES

  • Minimum of three (3) years of equivalent accounting experience, financial institution experience is a plus but not required
  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word
  • Must have effective organization and time management skills to successfully complete tasks timely and accurately.
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with all levels of management, staff, members and vendors

PAY RANGE

In accordance with California’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected salary range for this position is between: 

$25.08 - $33.00

Actual pay will be determined based on a candidate’s specific qualifications, including their knowledge, skills, education and experience, internal equity consideration, as well as other job-related factors permitted by law.
