LOCATION: This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates located in Colorado or East Tennessee. During the first six months of employment, candidates will be expected to report to our Westminster, Colorado facility once per month.
SUMMARY:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving revenue growth by partnering with customers to develop equipment design solutions within the markets ATG serves. This role combines mechanical/electrical design, estimating, and sales to position complex manufactured products, fabricated components, and engineered solutions to ATG’s customer base and new targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create or interpret specifications, data sheets, process flow diagrams, 3D models, 2D drawings, P&ID’s.
Develop conceptual 3D models and drawings to support fabrication estimates and technical proposals.
Utilize Microsoft Office software for estimating, such as Excel and Word.
Lead capture efforts for Design Build RFQs, RFPs, and government solicitations.
Develop conceptual and novel designs for estimating new projects.
Translate customer technical requirements into manufacturable solutions.
Support Proposal Manager with developing Technical and Price proposals.
Develop and present Business Engagement Team (BET) presentations to Management Team.
Lead Bid Review Meetings as necessary.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners.
Travel to and attend industry conferences, industry days, and other key events.
Become an expert in the company’s products and services.
Clearly and concisely communicate, in both written and verbal form.
Represent ATG in a professional, courteous manner.
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and occasionally internationally.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Systems Engineering from an ABET accredited institution (5+ yrs. experience).
Well-rounded background in core mechanical engineering concepts and material properties.
Machine design or stainless-steel sheet metal design required.
Manufacturing/DFM/DFA background and experience required.
Experience with Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) standard preferred.
Experience with Nuclear Glovebox, Pharmaceutical Isolator, or Pressure Vessel Design preferred.
Experience in B2B estimating and sales preferred.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
Ability to interpret customer verbal and/or written requirements into conceptual design.
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all organization levels, both internally and externally.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to gain product/service expertise – In order to provide solutions to customers, you need to understand the company’s products and services inside and out.
Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.
Provide Strategic support in developing the Sales Pipeline and Backlog. Works autonomously collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Strong computer knowledge and familiarity with standard desktop software in addition to SolidWorks, PRO/E, AutoCad or other drafting/modeling software. SolidWorks strongly preferred.
