Job Title: Facilities Manager at Paradise Point Marina

Location: Paradise Point Marina, Lay Lake, Alabama

Position Type: Full-Time 

Reports To: General Manager

Job Summary:

The Facilities Manager at Paradise Point Marina is responsible for the operational integrity, safety, and aesthetic appeal of the entire marina property. This role oversees the maintenance and repair of all physical assets, including wet and dry boat slips, floating and fixed docks, fuel docks, utility systems (shore power, water, pump-out), buildings, grounds, and heavy marine equipment. The ideal candidate displays hands-on technical skills and commitment to environmental and safety compliance.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Dock & Marine Infrastructure Maintenance

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on all fixed and floating docks, gangways, bulkheads, and launch ramps. 

  • Monitor and repair marine utility systems, including shore power pedestals, dock lighting, fresh water lines, and sewage pump-out stations.

  • Oversee the safe operation, inspection, and maintenance of specialized equipment

2. Facility & Grounds Operations

  • Manage the upkeep of all land-based structures, including the marina office, retail store, restrooms/shower facilities, restaurant spaces, and storage yards.

  • Oversee general property maintenance, including parking lot upkeep, landscaping, trash removal, and winterization/de-winterization protocols.

  • Maintain primary building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security/access control systems.
Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, with a strong preference for marina, waterfront, resort, or heavy industrial property experience.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems. 

  • Certifications (Preferred): OSHA 10/30-Hour

  • Physical Demands: Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, swim, lift up to 50 lbs, and work comfortably on or around the water.

  • Availability: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during peak boating season, and be available on-call for emergencies.
