Job Overview:
Our Residential Service Program offers a continuum of housing for the acutely and chronically mentally ill with supervised residences. Our purpose is to help those suffering from severe mental illness to live in the least restrictive setting that is compatible with their level of functioning. As a Residential Counselor in our Adult Residential Program, you will provide for the safety and security of adult clients within the residential setting by promoting a healthful and supportive environment. You will work closely with the residential nurse, supervisor and director in the implementation of adult individualized rehabilitation treatment goals.

As residential health care providers, we are committed to enriching our individuals’ lives by promoting a helpful and supportive environment. Our intent is to support and assist the individuals in achieving their desired level of recovery within their desired wellness domains. In addition to recovery orientation, the goal of the residential program is to provide skills teaching, education, encourage personal growth and increased demonstration of independence within activities of daily living so the resident can integrate into the community to a residence of their choice. While they remain in the residential program, the goal is to provide the least restrictive but most clinically appropriate structured setting. Our combined efforts will promote physical and mental health, and increase social support identification and engagement resulting in a dramatic decrease in the need for further psychiatric hospitalization.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical services will include screening, brief interventions, facilitating treatment referrals, school consultation and making necessary referrals to community supports as needed/identified
Coordinates and integrates treatment with other therapists, psychiatry, case management, and other services providers, within and between agencies, when appropriate
Helps to support the implementation of case review/school needs assessment process and providing direct services to students and parents/caregivers according to Tier eligibility
Partners with the Hub Director in the development and implementation of mental health workplans and social/emotional learning assessments.
Responsible for oversight of the timely and evidence-based delivery of clinical services for students within the Hub.
Counsels individuals, families or groups in an outpatient setting, and develops and implements therapeutic treatment plans
Establish and maintain positive relationships with residents, fostering a supportive and caring environment.
Provide assistance and guidance to residents in daily living activities, including personal care, meal planning, and household chores.
Implement and monitor individualized treatment plans, ensuring the physical, emotional, and social well-being or residents.
Facilitate group activities and therapeutic programs that promote skill development, socialization, and community integration.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of residents' progress, incidents, and any significant observations.
Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including residential supervisor, nurse, director, and medical professionals.
Requirements:
Minimum requirement is a High school diploma or equivalent, plus four years related mental health experience.
Professionalism and a commitment to excellence in care
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred:
Preferred is a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a mental health, health or other appropriate human services related discipline with knowledge of and experience with the chronic mentally ill adult population.
Additional Information:
Hourly Rate: $18.50
Bilingual Rate: An additional $1.50/hourly rate added to the base pay if Spanish proficient.
Shifts available: Overnight 12am-8am, Day/(Weekend) shift 8am-4pm, OR Night (weekend and/or available weekday) shifts 4pm-12am.
