The Buffing and Packing Associate plays a key role in ensuring forged parts are finished and packaged to meet quality standards. This position is responsible for operating buffing equipment to produce a clean, smooth surface on forged parts and properly packaging the finished components for shipment. Attention to detail, adherence to process instructions, and safe work habits are critical for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Buff forged parts using appropriate tools and equipment to meet required surface finish standards.
- Visually inspect parts for defects, burrs, or surface irregularities and take corrective action as needed.
- Ensure finished parts are packaged securely and labeled correctly per customer or internal specifications.
- Follow documented procedures and work instructions for buffing and packing operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling of tools and materials.
- Accurately track and document production, inspection, and packing data.
- Assist in reporting material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE at all times.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control.
- Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
