Degesch America, Inc. is seeking a full-time Accountant at our Weyers Cave headquarters. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in financial reporting, analysis, and business operations.
 
As an Accountant, you will play an important role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting processes. Working closely with accounting leadership, you will contribute to month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to gain broad accounting experience within a global organization, with exposure to diverse accounting functions, ERP systems, and career development opportunities.
 
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to accuracy, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports
  • Record and analyze journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions
  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing schedules and reports
  • Participate in accounting process improvement, automation initiatives, and ERP system enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Reconcile related party transactions with global partners
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audits
  • Assist in tax filings, payroll processing, and regulatory reporting as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies
  • Stay current with accounting standards and best practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience; internships or relevant coursework preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and foundational accounting principles
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and account reconciliation functions
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • Internship experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Familiarity with ERP systems
  • Knowledge of basic financial accounting principles and reporting requirements
