Job DetailsJob Location: Electroswitch Switches and Relays - Weymouth, MA 02188Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School/GEDSalary Range: $23.00 - $30.00 HourlyTravel Percentage: No TravelJob Shift: FirstJob Category: Manufacturing & OperationsPosition Summary Electroswitch is seeking an experienced Metal Stamping Press Setup Operator for our Rockland manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for setting up and operating large and small automatic and manual stamping presses using various dies and materials to produce precision metal components. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with press and die setup, material-feeding equipment, blueprint reading, and precision measuring instruments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review work orders, specifications, blueprints, and setup instructions before beginning production. Select, install, and set up the appropriate die for each production order. Adjust servo feeds, material straighteners, and other equipment to ensure proper material height and alignment. Retrieve and verify the correct material specified on the work order to prevent production interruptions or material shortages. Load coils weighing up to 800 pounds onto the unwind stand using approved material-handling equipment. Feed material through the straightener and into the press. Set up and operate automatic and manual stamping presses using various dies and materials. Install and adjust guards, sensors, and other required safety equipment before operating the press. Set up and operate in-die tapping equipment. Inspect finished parts to confirm conformance with blueprints, specifications, and dimensional requirements. Use micrometers, vernier calipers, indicators, thread gauges, and pins to inspect parts. Complete and maintain required SPC and production documentation. Monitor equipment during operation and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality. Perform basic preventive maintenance, including checking oil levels, lubricating equipment, and identifying loose or worn components. Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and other approved material-handling equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company quality, safety, and operating procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Operate milling machines, lathes, drill presses, tapping machines, and other related shop equipment as needed.   QualificationsQualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical or specialized training in press operation, metal stamping, machining, or a related field is preferred. One to three years of press operation, press setup, metal stamping, or related machine-shop experience. Experience setting up dies and operating automatic or manual stamping presses strongly preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and manufacturing specifications. Ability to use micrometers, vernier calipers, indicators, thread gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Understanding of basic inspection procedures and SPC documentation. Ability to use hand tools and material-handling equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and operate manufacturing equipment for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment. Ability to lift and carry materials within established safety limits. Ability to handle material coils weighing up to 800 pounds using appropriate lifting and material-handling equipment. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
