What You'll Do:Â
- Brands, vaccinates, treats, and otherwise processes incoming cattle.
- Checks feedlot pens on foot and/or horseback; identifies and removes sick cattle from pens.
- Administers medicines, vaccines, and drugs to cattle in accordance with Beef Quality Assurance program guidelines.
- Monitors quality and quantity of feedlot water supply.
- Builds, repairs, and maintains feedlot facilities.
- Operates and maintains vehicles and agricultural and construction machinery and equipment in accordance with verbal instructions and those provided in operator's manuals.
- Assists with cattle feeding as required.
- May be required to keep records and prepare reports regarding cattle, supplies, and machinery maintenance.
What We're Looking For:
Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities
- Previous experience with beef cattle; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as material safety data sheets, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Possession of a valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of equipment to be operated.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- English language fluency, verbal and written.
- Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check, credit check and drug/alcohol test.
