INTERLIBRARY LIBRARY ASSISTANT

Current Availability

The Interlibrary Loan department is seeking to fill the following hours:

Monday / Wednesday / Friday:

· For Grad students: Any 2 hours between 10:00am-1:30pm

· For Undergrad students: 11:30am-1:30pm (after Chapel)

Tuesday / Thursday:

· Any 2 hours between 1:00pm and 4:00pm

· Note: A valid US driver’s license is required for this shift.

Possible schedules include working all of the above hours (2 hrs/day, Mon-Fri, 10 hrs/week), or just MWF (6 hrs/week), or just TR (4 hrs/week). If your application is selected, you will receive a Google Form by email to confirm your availability and qualifications.

Job Overview

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Assistants are members of the Access Services team and support the Library’s Mission and Vision. Role responsibilities include processing, retrieving, and scanning materials in various stages of the ILL workflow. This position pays $15/hour.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Packing and unpacking shipments of incoming and outgoing ILL items

· Retrieving ILL items from various campus locations

· Scanning book chapters and articles to fill ILL requests

· Other ILL and/or Circulation tasks as necessary

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Close attention to detail

· Careful handling of materials

· Ability to responsibly and independently manage tasks

Qualifications

· Current Wheaton College undergraduate or graduate student

· Valid US driver’s license for 3 years preferred, required for some tasks

· Demonstrated good communication skills (written and verbal)
